The Los Angeles Rams and New York Giants had a low-scoring affair on Sunday, but there were plenty of fireworks after the game.

Giants receiver Golden Tate and star Rams cornerback Jalen Ramsey came together while the teams were exchanging pleasantries. Punches were thrown, and the two had to be separated as a scuffle broke out at midfield.

It remains to be seen whether Tate or Ramsey will face discipline from the league. But Tate will not be punished by the Giants or head coach Joe Judge (via Nick Shook of NFL.com):

Giants coach Joe Judge told reporters Monday he does not see a reason to suspend Tate, who was part of a midfield fracas that marred the ending of a close contest between the Rams and Giants at SoFi Stadium. Judge explained that he felt Tate was simply defending himself from Ramsey, per Newsday's Tom Rock.

The animosity between Ramsey and the Giants wide receiver stems from familial relationships.

Ramsey fathered two children with Tate's sister, Breanna. But–as Shook relays–he reportedly broke off the relationship while Tate was pregnant last year.

Indeed, Tate seemed to hint he was displeased with Ramsey's off-field relationships during an exchange on Twitter.

Tate has since deleted the tweet shown in the Instagram post above, but there seems to be plenty of tension between he and Ramsey.

In any case, Judge does not see the need to take action against Tate. It is clear this is something of a personal issue, and a sensitive one at that. It is curious, however, that Judge said he felt Tate was defending himself against Ramsey.
