The New York Giants are trekking through a disappointing season and have completely fallen out of the playoff picture after winning just two out of their first 11 games.

According to Jordan Raanan of ESPN, Pro Bowl cornerback Janoris Jenkins has been placed on the season-ending IR list due to an ankle injury that will require surgery.

Janoris Jenkins is the latest New York Giants player to land on injured reserve, according to a source.

Jenkins has been playing the past two months with a debilitating ankle injury that has limited his ability to cut and change directions. He is undergoing surgery on Wednesday, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

The Giants have seen a plethora of key players on both sides of the ball head to the IR, such as Odell Beckham Jr., and Brandon Marshall.

Earlier this week, several other players were put on the RT. Talents such as offensive guard D.J. Fluker, cornerback Deonte Deayon, linebackers Curtis Grant and Deontae Skinner, and defensive end Romeo Okwara.

Following his best individual season, Jenkins struggled to see eye-to-eye with the coaching staff this year, as he was suspended more than once for violating some sort of team rules that did result in him missing some playing time. His dealings with the team this campaign have been quite indicative of how things have fallen apart in New York.

All of this should likely lead to some major upheaval over the offseason in hopes of shaking it up for the betterment of the franchise.
