Some not so great news coming out of the New York Giants National Football League franchise. It is being reported that defensive back Janoris Jenkins left the team's Thanksgiving Day game in a walking boot.

This came via Art Stapleton of USA Today, as he tweeted that cornerback Janoris Jenkins wore a walking boot as he exited FedEx Field on Thanksgiving night, due to an ankle injury.

No one yet knows the severity of the injury. While hearing that Janoris Jenkins is in a walking boot definitely lends credence to the idea that the injury is horrific, sometimes a team will slip those bad boys on a player just to take precautionary measures. It doesn't inherently mean his ankle is falling off from the rest of his body.

This is a big issue for the already struggling New York Giants. If Jenkins is unable to go this week, it likely means Eli Apple will be forced into heavy playing time. For those unaware, Apple has come under heavy criticism as of late for being one of those defensive backs who don't really like to tackle. As a result of his non-tackling abilities, Apple was relegated to the sideline on Thursday.

Nevertheless, this is just more bad news for a team that has had nothing but bad news all season long. Many expect the Giants to go in full rebuild mode this offseason. Decisions on the future of coach Ben McAdoo and quarterback Eli Manning will need to be had.

Until then, it is some iffy football and probably a few more losses.

Yay!
