Just recently, Eli Manning officially retired from the New York Giants, but another legend for the Giants is going to have his jersey retired. Shortly after Manning's retirement, Michael Strahan revealed that New York is retiring his No. 92 jersey.

Back in 1993, the Giants selected Strahan with the 40th overall pick out of Texas Southern. The Texas native would go on to play his entire 15-year career with New York and put together an impressive resume.

Over the course of his career, Strahan combined for 141.5 sacks, 854 tackles, and 24 forced fumbles. Strahan's 141.5 sacks are the sixth-most of all-time. To commemorate his illustrious career, Strahan was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2014.

In addition, Strahan still holds the single-season sack record with 22.5 sacks in 2001. Besides being a talented pass rusher, Strahan was known for his bubbly personality. Of course, many know him for being the football player with the gap in his teeth.

As for his time in New York, Strahan was able to help the Giants secure a Super Bowl victory in 2007. After the Giants won the Super Bowl, the dominant defensive end chose to retire from the NFL.

With Strahan getting his jersey retired, the Giants will now have 13 different numbers retired in their franchise's history. When Manning announced his retirement, owner John Mara said that ‘no one' will wear the No. 10 jersey again for the Giants.

It's unclear what the exact date is when the Giants are going to retire Strahan's jersey. Nevertheless, the Hall-of-Fame defensive end will be forever remembered in New York at MetLife Stadium.
