The New York Giants are preparing to take on the Chicago Bears having lost each of their last four games. Already down starting quarterback Daniel Jones, and with star running back Saquon Barkley still dealing with the after-effects of his sprained ankle, the Giants' current offensive situation is already far from ideal. Add in the fact that the Giants' receivers room is absolutely decimated right now, and there's the recipe for a potential offensive disaster on Sunday against the Bears.

In addition to Sterling Shepard, who is on injured reserve, and Darius Slayton, who is on the reserve/COVID-19 list, the Giants have ruled out Kadarius Toney, Collin Johnson and John Ross. That leaves Kenny Golladay as the team’s only active receiver.

Yikes. So, Sterling Shepard and Darius Slayton are both already down. But players such as Kadarius Toney, who is out with a shoulder injury, as well as John Ross III and Collin Johnson, are guys who could step up in the absence of starters but are all set to miss the game against the Bears.

That leaves Kenny Golladay as the only active wide receiver, meaning the Giants will have to sign some players off of the practice squad. The Giants receivers' room will look a whole lot different on Sunday against the Bears.

Chicago's defense is probably licking their chops ahead of the matchup against signal-callers Mike Glennon and Jake Fromm, who will now be throwing to Giants' receivers they likely have little chemistry with. Kenny Golladay, who has disappointed in his first year in New York, will be needed now more than ever.

It's a recipe for disaster for the Giants receivers room ahead of their game against the Bears.
