The New York Giants made big headlines when they announced the firing of head coach Joe Judge. Giants owner John Mara, who has come under fire for how he has run the organization, spoke to reporters on Wednesday following Tuesday's decision on Judge and comically denied nepotism in the franchise, despite obvious signs of it occurring, via GiantsWire of USA Today.

“The perception [that family members aren’t held to accountability during this stretch] has been created by you and others,” Mara chided a reporter. “The reality is that in terms of my brother, my brother spent the bulk of his time doing the evaluation of college players. His grades go into our system, and he participates in the draft.

“All personnel decisions in this building, and this has always been the case, have been made by the general manager and the head coach. When they agree on a decision, they come to me with it. As long as they are both in agreement, I okay it.”

Giants owner John Mara snapped back at the reporter who insinuated there was nepotism in the franchise, saying that everyone is held to the same standard of accountability.

That may be the case, but for Mara to blatantly deny nepotism within the Giants organization when his own brother Chris is involved in the general manager interviews and draft process is comical.

John Mara will continue to take heat for not only how he runs the Giants, but also for ridiculous statements like this.
