You would think the fact that the New York Giants handed Odell Beckham Jr. a five-year, $95 million contract extension last August would cool off the talk that he could eventually be traded, but that has not been the case.

Ever since the 2018 campaign ended, Beckham has been the subject of trade rumors, and even though Giants general manager Dave Gettleman has insisted that the team isn't trading the wide receiver, some around the league still feel New York could move him.

What does Giants head coach Pat Shurmur have to think about this? Not much.

According to Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk, Shurmur told reporters that he would not talk about any trade rumors surrounding Beckham and that he was merely looking forward to working with the young star this offseason.

Shurmur added that he has been in touch with Beckham, whom he said has resumed training after a quad injury kept him out for the final four games of the regular season. Shurmur also said that his relationship with the wide out is in a good place.

Beckham is coming off of a 2018 campaign in which he hauled in 77 receptions for 1,052 yards and six touchdowns over 12 games.

The 26-year-old, who played his collegiate football at LSU, was originally selected by the Giants in the first round (12th pick overall) of the 2014 NFL Draft.

Beckham went on to make the Pro Bowl in each of his first three seasons, but the last two years, he has played in just 16 games due to injury issues.
