Saquon Barkley is just getting started. After his first two years in the league as the New York Giants‘ top running back, the young star says that he still has a lot to prove.

“I always feel like I’ve got something to prove,” Barkley told reporters in a conference call with the Giants, per Pro Football Reference. “That’s always been my mindset. Always going to try to be the best player and person that I can be, not only for myself but for my team.”

The 2018 NFL Rookie of the Year suffered a high ankle injury last year, forcing him to miss three games in the 2019 season. He came back and played the Giants' last three games and tallied 539 yards and five touchdowns.

“The ankle felt good after the season. Let’s just say that,” Barkley shared when asked about how he feels. “That’ll be the answer I’ve got for you.”

Imagine running all those yards and scoring all those TDs with a hurt ankle. Saquon Barkley things.

Behind a stellar rookie season, the 23-year old was named #16 in the NFL Top 100 Players list of 2019. He was also picked to be one of the Giants' team captains, which is seldom given to any player just after a year.

Even with his injury dampening his sophomore run, Barkley still managed to finish the season with 1,003 rushing yards, making him the only running back in franchise history to have 1,000 rushing yards in each of his first two seasons. It's pretty safe to say that Barkley is one of the best RB's in the league.

With a fully-recovered ankle and a one-way path to greatness, everybody has to watch out for Saquon.
