It's common knowledge that New York City is one of the toughest places to be an athlete, but Saquon Barkley wants Giants fans to stop blaming Eli Manning. The New York Giants are 1-5 this season, and Manning has taken the bulk of the criticism.

The 2018 NFL Draft was full of talented young quarterbacks. Saquon Barkley is great, but New Yorkers are wondering if getting a new quarterback would have been a more effective way to salvage their season. Nevertheless, Barkley stands behind his quarterback.

“It sucks seeing that everyone just trying to put all the blame on Eli, and that’s not the case,” Barkley told the New York Post. “At the end of the day, you win as a team and you lose as a team, and as a team we gotta get better.”

Saquon Barkley has rushed for 438 yards this season, ranking him sixth in the NFL. He's scored four touchdowns and has been one of the few bright spots in the Giants' offense. He produced when given a chance, but most agree he should get a bump in touches so the team can get a better sample size of his ability.

Eli Manning has only thrown six touchdowns so far, which ranks him in the bottom third among NFL starting quarterbacks. He hasn't found much success throwing down the field, and their point production is evidence of that. The Giants are only scoring 19.5 points a game. This mark is only better than five other NFL teams.

If the Giants don't get the defense to back up their stagnant offense, it'll likely be more of the same against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 7.
