After years of watching Jason Garrett roam the sidelines as the head coach of the Dallas Cowboys, the New York Giants and their fans will finally get a taste of what it's like to see Garrett on their side, as he takes over offensive coordinator duties for the 2020 year. Legendary Giants running back Tiki Barber recently dished on what New York can expect from their new offensive maestro.

“There's a calm with Jason,” Barber said to Sports Illustrated. “If you've watched him as a coach, you can clearly see that he's not overly emotional or demonstrative.”

Garrett will be tasked with ramping up the effectiveness of an offense that he was tasked with slowing as recently as last year. Many of those same parts are still there for the Giants: Pro Bowl running back Saquon Barkley and second-year quarterback Daniel Jones. During his stint with the Cowboys, Garrett had a similar situation with a standout back (Ezekiel Elliott) and an inexperienced signal caller (Dak Prescott) and helped turn the franchise into the league's leading offense by yards per game (431.5) last season.

Garrett was derided for his lack of postseason success at the helm in Dallas, but the Giants haven't had much success in that time span, either. With just one season above .500 to their credit since 2013, Garrett is hoping that the demeanor he had as a head coach translates to play calling with a new organization.

Barber knows about winning with the Giants and gives some insight into what to expect when the 2020 season gets underway.
