Tom Brady is set to take part in a record-setting 10th Super Bowl appearance on Feb. 7 when his Tampa Bay Buccaneers battle it out against the Kansas City Chiefs. In the buildup to the highly-anticipated matchup, former New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning, a familiar foe of the great Tom Brady, made a telling revelation pertaining to how Brady continues to rue his Super Bowl losses.

Brady enters his 10th Super Bowl with a 6-3 record. All nine appearances came during Brady's time with the New England Patriots, with two of those bitter losses courtesy of Manning and the Giants. According to Manning, these defeats continue to haunt the three-time league MVP to this very day:

“It’s one of those things, it’s not something I ever say or ever think a lot about,’’ Manning told Paul Schwartz of the New York Post on Tuesday. “I’ve been around Tom numerous times, and I’ve never brought up a Super Bowl or our games versus them. He actually brings it up. It still bothers him a little bit, especially the ’07 one when they had the chance to go down as the greatest team of all time.”

Manning's upset wins over Brady came in 2007 and in 2011, wherein in both instances, it was the former who was named as the Super Bowl MVP. Manning is the only quarterback in league history that has the right to say that he has beaten Brady multiple times in the pinnacle of the sport. Nevertheless, Manning maintains a humble disposition with regards to his professional relationship with Brady:

“But I don’t have any bragging rights with Tom,” Manning said. “This is his 10th Super Bowl, and I’m so impressed with his whole career.”

And so is the rest of the sporting world.

Brady's legacy, however, will be on the line on Feb. 7 when the Bucs take on the defending champs. Brady will also go head-to-head against another all-time great, the reigning Super Bowl MVP, and a fellow future Hall of Famer in Patrick Mahomes.
