Glover Teixeira is not a fan of Paulo Costa and the former UFC light heavyweight champion has been firing shots at him at every opportunity. Recently, the former champion took aim at his career and recent controversy online.

While speaking about Paulo Costa's controversial social media posts, Glover Texeira told Ag. Fight that the UFC middleweight is trying to distract from his recent fights. The middleweight has recently been on a tough skid of losses.

“The guy sees it and he’s like, ‘Damn man, this is the way. I’m really not winning a shit, not even hitting the weight or doing any shit. I’m like the worst professional, so what am I going to do here?’ That’s the way out, creating controversy,” said former UFC champion Teixeira (ht Sportskeeda). “Calling the guy, putting the guy down when he is at the worst moment of his life. ‘Oo oh, Charles [Oliveira] lost his belt’, Talking shit, you know?! Because it will sell, because it will sell. He already knows that.”

A fight between the two is not completely unrealistic as Glover Teixeira fights at 205 and Paulo Costa has been flirting with a move up to light heavyweight himself. The UFC would certainly be interested in booking them if there is enough of a storyline between the two.

Glover Teixeira is coming off of a loss to Jiri Prochazka back at UFC 275 earlier this month. Paulo Costa is coming off a loss to Marvin Vettori at light heavyweight and he's currently set to face former champion, Luke Rockhold in August.
