Godfall: Challenger Edition arrives on PS+ this December 2021 for both PS4 and PS5 subscribers. Two other PS4 games are also going to the PS+ service this month, but the focus is mostly on Godfall.

Godfall: Challenger Edition PS+ December 2021 Launch Date: December 7, 2021

PS4 and PS5 players who don't own Godfall yet will finally get a chance to do so once Godfall: Challenger Edition launches on December 7, 2021, on both PS4 and PS5 devices through the PS+ service. However, there's a big catch: Challenger Edition is just a sort of demo of the game, skipping the entire campaign. Godfall: Challenger Edition only contains the endgame content, letting players control a max-level character with powerful weapons and equipment. Players will also get to play three new game modes:

  • Lightbringer, a battle against an all-consuming darkness that threatens to snuff out all light from the realms of Aperion. Players willing to persevere through selected banes will receive increasingly greater rewards – and face ever more challenging hordes until the blighted Heart of Darkness is banished in an epic final battle.
  • Dreamstones, engage in randomized encounters by reliving the memories of Orin and gain unique rewards each time you play. The curses bestowed on the aptly named Cursed Loot tier can be lifted by completing challenges in Dreamstones.
  • Ascended Tower of Trials, put your skills to the test in an ever more challenging climb to the top of the tower gaining boons and facing fierce bosses along the way in the pursuit of juicy loot drops.

Players will also get to upgrade easily to the game's Deluxe Edition if they have the Challenger Edition. The Deluxe Edition contains the Fire and Darkness expansion that was released alongside the game's PS4 version. This lets players go through the campaign if they haven't gotten enough Godfall from the endgame content yet.

As for the other two games releasing on PS + alongside Godfall, those are Mortal Shell and LEGO DC: Super-Villains.
