One player who has been consistently included in trade talks the past few months is Milwaukee Bucks center Greg Monroe. The team has been actively shopping him and is just looking for the most lucrative offer that they can pounce on.

But, as reported by Marc Stein of ESPN, the 6'11” big certainly knows his preferred destination if everything was up to him.

He wants to end up with the New Orleans Pelicans.

On first thought, it actually makes sense since Monroe is a native of Louisiana and the team has inquired about his services before. But trading him to his home state's team is easier said than done.

Aside from the Bucks only receiving low-ball offers, salary and contract matters are also in the way. The Georgetown product is very efficient on the offensive end, but his defensive skills are suspect and they've always been questioned since he started his NBA career. Plus, his slated salary of $17 million in 2016-2017 is too high of a price on a possible rental. He has an opt-out option after next season and the Pelicans will look at that as a very high risk.

Monroe has career averages of 14.5 points and 9.2 rebounds while shooting 50.8% from the field in six seasons and there is no doubt he can contribute to any team. Even if it will be extremely difficult, it's not impossible for him to end up with the Pelicans, but they have to be extra creative in carving out a situation that will be beneficial for all parties involved.
