The Memphis Grizzlies have a pair of stellar youngsters that have taken the league by storm in the form of point guard Ja Morant and big man Jaren Jackson Jr. And ahead of Wednesday's contest, Boston Celtics head coach Brad Stevens joined the ranks of those to take notice

“Ja's skill is top level, Jaren's skill is top level. They've got a lot going for them,” Stevens told Omari Sankofa II of The Athletic.

Morant has made his case as the league's top rookie, as he enters play Wednesday averaging 17.9 points and 7.0 assists across 37 contests, all while shooting 49.0 percent overall. On the other hand, Jackson has increased his scoring average by four points in his second season with the Grizzlies, up to 17.8 per game while adding 4.8 rebounds and 1.4 blocks on a nightly basis.

Both players shoot the ball north of 40 percent from long range and make up the crux of the team's young nucleus.

Of course, the Celtics have a dynamic young core in their own right with Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown leading the way. The two sides are to clash Wednesday before the two teams run it back on March 25 in Memphis.

Whether or not Ja Morant and Jaren Jackson Jr. can lead Memphis to the postseason remains to be seen. The Grizzlies are on the heels of a seven-game win streak which has propelled them into the No. 8 spot in the Western Conference coming into play Wednesday.

The Grizzlies, however, will need to fend off myriad of challengers over the final two and a half months, but with Morant and Jackson leading the way, their playoff aspirations may have been fast-tracked.
