Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant could be sidelined in Game 4 of their Western Conference semifinals series against the Golden State Warriors after his latest knee injury.

While it is not yet 100 percent guaranteed, Grizzlies head coach Taylor Jenkins admitted that it's a likely scenario given what they have seen so far, per Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Ja Morant sustained his injury during the fourth quarter of their blowout loss to the Warriors on Saturday. While many believe he got it during a battle for the ball with Jordan Poole, when the Dubs guard grabbed his knee, several others argue that he probably hurt his knee when he jumped on a Klay Thompson fake and collided with the sharpshooter.

Regardless, however, Morant's absence will be a big blow to the Grizzlies and their hopes of tying the series.

The Warriors regained the advantage with the 129-109 win in Game 3, so the Grizzlies cannot afford to lose Game 4 or else they head back home down 3-1 with a real threat of getting eliminated.

Of course there is still hope given that Jenkins noted that Morant is only “likely” out but not entirely, which means they are still trying to see if he can recover in time for the showdown. It also suggests that the injury could not be that serious, although fans have to wait for the official statement from the team.

For now, the Grizzlies faithful can only hope and pray that Morant will be healthy and ready come Monday.
