Trae Young is to Ja Morant, what Frodo is to an orc: small, defenseless, and unable to guard the ring. Or at least it appeared that way when the Memphis Grizzlies sophomore stud bulldozed his way past the Atlanta  Hawks guard on his way to the basket.

Hawks' fans, avert your eyes:

Operating in the middle of the floor near the free throw line, Morant displayed his superb cutting ability as he dove to the basket, following a baseline pass. Unable to keep up with the speedy Memphis guard, Young fell behind Morant, and attempted to save a basket with an ill advised block attempt , that only succeeded in providing Morant a free throw opportunity.

Never missing a chance to flex over his opponent, the point guard immediately reminded fans of Young's diminutive, stature.

Coming off his inaugural season in which he was named the NBA's rookie of the year, Morant has faced questions over his ability to propel the Grizzlies into the postseason. Operating in a western conference brimming with talent, Memphis has been pegged as likely to miss the postseason by many observers despite the breakout performance last season of their rookie guard.

With his co-star in Jaren Jackson Jr. being deemed out for at least the first few weeks of the regular season, Ja Morant will have his work cut out for him.

But given the joy he seems to take in staring down any challengers, it wouldn't be surprising to see Ja Morant get the opportunity further taunt his skeptics.
