Memphis Grizzlies rookie point guard Ja Morant burst on the scene to kick off the 2019-20 season before coming back to reality over his past two games.

Morant may have scuffled from the field the past two games, but that clearly didn’t appear to make his confidence waver ahead of Wednesday’s matchup versus the Charlotte Hornets.

Coming off a screen near the right elbow, Morant toasted the Hornets’ double team with a behind the back dribble that brought him in the vicinity of the basket. Charlotte center Cody Zeller did his best to stick with the explosive rookie, but it ended up being two points for Morant.

Even with his minutes monitored, Ja Morant has firmly entrenched himself in the NBA Rookie of the Year conversation through the season’s first month. What else can he pull off? Stay tuned for his next trick.
