The Jordan Brand's family of signature stars has its newest member, and he doesn't play in the NBA — not even in the America.

Guo Ailun, a professional basketball player in the Chinese Basketball Association, playing for the Liaoning Flying Leopards, will become the first Chinese athlete to be signed by the shoe and apparel giants, according to a piece made by ESPN's Nick DePaula.

‘That roster now fittingly includes rising star point guard Guo, the first Chinese Basketball Association player signed to Jordan Brand. Guo, 23, will also become the first international athlete to have his own Jordan signature sneaker.”

When asked how his fans and teammates reacted after finding out about the major development in his career, Ailun said they are all happy for him, but now often gets teased as well.

“The fans here in China are all proud of me. My teammates always tease me though, and ask for free Jordans.”

The Liaoyang native is a rising star of Chinese basketball and is considered by many as one of the best, if not the best, point guard in Asia right now. He turned professional when he was only 17 years old, and was the reason why the CBA made a clause to allow underaged players to still play in the league. Since then, he has been named an All-Star three-times, and is already a fixture of his country's national team.

Now with Jordan Brand, he's expected to be a global ambassador and is also set to debut his shoe line in the near future. If he can continue to impress scouts and further improve his game, it won't be surprising if he'll be receiving an invite from an NBA team, and might even be able to crack a roster spot soon.
