Trae Young has had a scintillating start to his NBA career. The Atlanta Hawks' prized point proved doubters wrong by translating his Stephen Curry-like game to the pros seamlessly, scoring and stunting on NBA defenders as if he's a seasoned pro. He's already firmly planted his name amongst the best scoring threats of this generation.

Don't believe it? Just look at this stat that shows on what level the Hawks star's play has been. His revenge performance against the Milwaukee Bucks, according to StatMuse, has only been replicated by a handful of high-profile superstars:

Clearly motivated by the Bucks' elimination of the Hawks in the last post-season, Young was on a mission to destroy Giannis and co, and he did so in spectacular fashion. He scored 42 points on immaculate shooting, along with 8 rebounds and 10 assists. Only three other players have been able to do what Trae Young just did: James Harden, Russell Westbrook, and Paul George. That's some elite company right there.

That's not all! Young's 42-point outburst is his 17th 40-point game in his four seasons in the league. That ties him with Kevin Durant and LeBron James with the third-most 40-point games in their first four seasons, trailing only Shaquille O'Neal and Michael Jordan. Being in the same group as two of the greatest players of all time sounds like a win for Young.

The Eastern Conference Finalist Hawks have been struggling to find a rhythm to start the season. Perhaps this revenge game against their former playoff rivals, as well as Young's historic performance (despite fans saying he'll be affected by the new rules), will serve as the catalyst to their season ticking in the right direction.
