NBA TV held a discussion with some of the top rookies of this season, but Atlanta Hawks rookie point guard Trae Young wasn't invited.

Phoenix Suns big man Deandre Ayton, Sacramento Kings forward Marvin Bagley III, Dallas Mavericks point-forward Luka Doncic and Memphis Grizzlies center Jaren Jackson Jr. were invited to talk about their rookie seasons thus far. However, Trae Young was a notable absentee, which is odd since he was the fifth overall pick in the draft.

Young noticed he wasn't part of the panel and took to Twitter to express how he was feeling.

In 58 games this season for the Hawks, Young is averaging 16.9 points, 3.3 rebounds and 7.6 assists while shooting 40.6 percent from the field, 31.2 percent from beyond the arc and 79.8 percent from the free-throw line.

Young has 18 double-doubles on the season. He leads all rookies in assists per game and is second in points per game, trailing only Doncic. The Hawks' floor general has recorded double-digit assists in 18 games this season and scored over 20 points in 19.

Sure, Young got off to a slow start, but he's been playing very well since Thanksgiving and is one of the best rookies of his class. As always, Young is going to use this latest slight as more motivation.
