Bam Adebayo made sure the Miami Heat would come out as winners in Jimmy Butler's first game back from a long absence. The reigning Eastern Conference champions escaped with a narrow 105-104 victory over the Sacramento Kings on Saturday at AmericanAirlines Arena, thanks to Adebayo's late-game heroics.

Clinging to a one-point lead with under four ticks left in regulation, the Heat needed a defensive stop to put an end to their ugly five-game skid. They forced the ball out of De'Aaron Fox's hands with a double-team, as he forked it over to Richaun Holmes for an off-balanced jumper. However, Adebayo got a piece of the shot in the final play to put Miami back in the win column.

The All-Star slotman finished with 18 points, 13 rebounds, four assists, two steals and one game-saving block. He shot 7-for-11 from the field in 36 minutes. Butler, who came over to double team Fox in that final possession, knocked in a team-high 30 points along with eight assists and seven rebounds.

The Heat's struggles in the 2020-21 campaign have been evident, as injuries and COVID-19 protocols have wreaked havoc to head coach Erik Spoelstra's rotation. Despite the spirited win, Miami is still outside the Top 8 in the Eastern Conference standings with a lackluster 7-12 start.

Bam Adebayo has been doing his part for Miami, averaging 20.1 points, 9.1 rebounds, and 5.6 assists before Saturday's match. Hopefully, the Heat can turn things around now that Jimmy Butler is back in the rotation.
