Miami Heat shooting guard Dwyane Wade will mull the possibility of retirement this offseason after coming off the bench for the first time in his NBA career this past season.

According to his wife, Gabrielle Union, he could still hang around in the league for a little longer.

Union spoke as a guest in The Ringer‘s podcast, claiming her eyes aren't deceiving her when it comes to Wade's playing ability.

Via Anthony Chiang of The Palm Beach Post:

“If it was from what I can see and the way he’s playing — absolutely,” Union said when asked if she believes Wade can still play. “He can play two or three more years with the way he’s playing because his mid-range jumper is nice and he can still get to the basket.

“He can absolutely keep playing, but I don’t know if he’s over it.”

Wade's decision will not only depend on his playing ability or his role within a team but also his determination to keep being part of an 82-game grind throughout a long season, given his injury history and the toll he's put on his body over the course of 15 seasons in the league.

Though Union's support will surely matter in the larger picture, along with the rest of Wade's family life, the decision will be ultimately up to him — one he will have to take soon enough, as the Heat undergo a series of changes this offseason.
