For the past two seasons, Miami Heat point guard Goran Dragic's name keeps coming up in trade rumors.

However, according to a Heat exec, the veteran guard has been in the league long enough to know that trade rumors are part of the NBA.

“It is what it is. Goran has been around a long time. He gets it,” the Heat exec told Keith Smith of Real GM. “He’ll do what he has to do and come in ready to play. We don’t worry about that.”

Goran Dragic, who will make $19.2 million next season and become an unrestricted free agent in the summer of 2020, was almost traded to the Dallas Mavericks this offseason. The Mavs had interest in acquiring Dragic in a previous three-team construction of the Jimmy Butler sign-and-trade deal.

However, the Mavs changed their mind and didn’t want to add Dragic’s contract to their salary cap.

The Heat will try and get back to the playoffs in 2019-20 after missing it last season. Miami's roster is headlined by Dragic, Butler, Justise Winslow and Bam Adebayo.

Dragic averaged 13.7 points, 3.1 rebounds and 4.8 assists last season while shooting 41.3 percent from the field, 34.8 percent from beyond the arc and 78.2 percent from the free-throw line. The lefty only played in 36 games. He had knee surgery in December.
