The Miami Heat will need to navigate their next few games without new arrival Victor Oladipo. It has just been confirmed that the two-time All-Star will not be traveling with the team for their upcoming four-game road trip as he nurses a right knee injury.

This report on the biggest new acquisition for the Heat comes via Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel:

Oladipo sustained the injury during Thursday's tilt for the Heat against the Los Angeles Lakers. He was actually having a good game before being forced to exit after 25 minutes of action. The 28-year-old appeared to have injured himself after landing on a dunk.

He left the game not long after and was unable to return for the Heat. Oladipo finished Thursday's 1101-04 win over the defending champs with 18 points, four rebounds, two assists, three steals, and a block.

Initial X-ray results came out negative for Oladipo but he is expected to have an MRI on Friday. As such, the Heat decided to err on the side of caution here and just let him sit out the next few games.

Depending on the results of the MRI, Oladipo could be out of action for an extended period for the Heat. He's already been ruled out for the next four games and the fact that he's been declared as unavailable for a relatively extended period even before his MRI results return is a bit concerning.

Vic has battled through a myriad of injuries throughout his career, and the NBA community is hoping that this is nothing more than a minor setback for him as he settles into his role with the Heat in the weeks before the playoffs. The Nets are viewed as the favorite in the East with the 76ers and Bucks also in the mix. Oladipo will be counted on by Miami if the defending Eastern Conference champions are going to make a real run.
