The Miami Heat came away with a huge road win over the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday and Dwyane Wade's miraculous halfcourt buzzer-beater the end of the third quarter proved to be a crucial bucket that Miami needed in order to seal the win.

The Heat prevailed over the Spurs by just five points, 110-105, and Wade's desperation heave gave his team a healthy 12-point cushion to work with heading into the final frame of the contest.

Listen to the San Antonio crowd react with equal parts of shock and awe at the 13-time All-Star's highlight-worthy play.

Spurs fans know better than to undermine Wade's talent even at his current age. Miami and San Antonio were part of back-to-back NBA Finals battles in 2013 and 2014, with Wade's team taking the first of those two title-round bouts.

Wednesday night's contest was a crucial one for the two decorated franchises just the same. The Heat and the Spurs are both currently ranked at the bottom half of their respective conference playoff brackets.

Miami needed the win more as the team holds a slim 1.5-game lead over the Orlando Magic for the No. 8 seed in the East.

Meanwhile, San Antonio is neck-and-neck with the L.A. Clippers for the seventh and eighth seed in the West. However, the Spurs are confident that they won't lose their playoff positioning given that they have a distant seven-game lead over the ninth-place Sacramento Kings in the postseason race.
