It’s been a tough summer for Chris Bosh.

After religiously following all that he needed to do in order to make a comeback, the Miami Heat team doctors deemed him unfit to play again. It prompted Pat Riley to release a statement which basically ended Bosh’s career with the Heat.

That was several weeks ago. Since then, Bosh and Riley have gone back-and-forth with comments against each other.

While Miami’s specialists have given their opinion on the well-being of the former all-star, Chris Bosh isn’t giving up on his hope that a different set of doctors will tell him differently. However, reaching the point of having others examine him might take a little longer, if it happens at all.

According to an article by ESPN’s Zach Lowe, Miami’s other option regarding Bosh could be a tough decision for them and an absolute crusher of the 6-foot-10 forward’s immediate hopes.

The most likely course of action as of now in this murky, sad situation, per sources all around it: The Heat wait until after March 1 to waive Bosh so that he is not eligible to appear in the postseason for any team that signs him. At that point, Bosh's mammoth salary would vanish from Miami's cap sheet, freeing Riley to plop his rings in front of one or two stars this summer.

Seems pretty heartless, but that’s part of the reality that is the business of the NBA. But on a positive note, this gives Chris Bosh all the time in the world to do further medications in hopes of maneuvering one of the biggest comeback stories that the league has seen.
