Charlotte Hornets rookie Miles Bridges is going with the Swoosh. According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, Bridges has signed a four-year deal with Nike.

Although the financial details of the contract haven’t been revealed yet as of this writing, the partnership with Nike is surely another lucrative source of revenue for the former Michigan State Spartans star. Bridges — who was taken by the Los Angeles Clippers as the 12th overall selection in June’s NBA Draft before shipping him to Charlotte together with a pair of future picks for Shai Gilgeous-Alexander –signed a standard four-year rookie scale contract that will pay him $3.2 million in 2018-19.

The 2018 NBA Draft class has seen some of its top players sign with Nike’s rivals, particularly with Puma, which secured deals with No. 1 overall pick Deandre Ayton, Marvin Bagley III, and Zhaire Smith.

As for Bridges, it’s not exactly a surprise he went with Nike. After all, Michael Jordan is the owner of the team he’s going to play for in his first season in the big league.

Bridges was expected to enter the NBA Draft last year after an impressive freshman season with the Spartans, but he decided to stay for one more year in East Lansing. In his final season at Michigan State, he and new Memphis Grizzlies big man Jaren Jackson Jr. teamed up to make Tom Izzo’s squad a formidable opponent.

Bridges concluded his college career with averages of 17.1 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 2.7 assists in 34 games during the 2017-18 season of the NCAA.
