Boston Celtics All-Star guard Isaiah Thomas once again proved that he is the king of the fourth quarter. After scoring 29 points in the period and overtime, the 5-foot-9 guard finished the game with a career-high 53 points on the night.

His stellar performance also allowed him to be part of his team's record books, by scoring the second most points in franchise playoff history, next only to the great John Havlicek, who recorded 54 points in the 1973 conference semifinals against the Atlanta Hawks.

Playing with a heavy heart following the tragic death of her younger sister, Chynna, Thomas played his best game as a pro on her 23rd birthday. He was emotionally charged throughout the game and fired up his teammates to overcome a five-point deficit entering the fourth quarter, to send the game into overtime. He saved his best in the extra five minutes as he scored important baskets to seal the victory.

The Boston faithful are hoping he can build on his historic performance, especially now that the series is headed to the nation's capital for Games 3 and 4.
