The Jacksonville Jaguars have been involved in rumors surrounding star Yannick Ngakoue since March but there's life outside of Ngakoue for the Jags. After three long months since drafting him, the Jaguars are finally signing their first-round pick in the 2020 Draft, Florida cornerback CJ Henderson.

According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, the Jacksonville franchise has reportedly negotiated and agreed to a four-year deal with their ninth overall pick. Henderson will earn an estimated $20.5 million, fully guaranteed, on his first professional football contract. The deal also includes a possible fifth-year option.

The Jaguars selected the Florida product in the first round all the way back in April and took them almost 90 days to secure their prized rookie's signature. The delay in Henderson's signing could be due to Jacksonville's involvement with trade talks revolving around Pro Bowl defensive end Yannick Ngakoue. The team had even reportedly received an offer for Ngakoue that involved swapping his services with another Pro Bowler.

Despite their phone lines being busy these past months, Jacksonville has still been able to get things done with Henderson even if it did take quite some time.

Henderson played three years in Florida and was named to All-SEC teams in each of his college seasons. In his final year, the Jags' newest defensive weapon had totals of 33 tackles, 11 pass deflections, and a sack. He was named a Second Team All-American.

The Jaguars have finished dead last in the AFC South the past two season and in 2019, their defense allowed over 6000 yards and 47 total touchdowns.
