Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Terrelle Pryor has worked out twice for Tom Coughlin, but the first time didn't end with a contract offer, and he wants to prove that he still belongs in the NFL.

In 2015 when Pryor was making the switch to wide receiver, he tried out for Coughlin, who was with the Giants and thought he was a perfect fit because of how well Coughlin has done with developing wideouts.

“I worked out for the Giants, and I was excited because I knew about Coughlin’s history with receivers and stuff,” Pryor said after Tuesday’s organized team activities session via Jacksonville.com. “When I worked out for him and he didn’t sign me, I was kind of bummed out.”

Obviously, he was frustrated with not getting a chance, but he is hoping to prove Coughlin right for taking a chance on him this time. The Jaguars signed Pryor on Monday, bringing him onto the roster and giving him a chance to make the team this summer.

“It’s Round Two,” Pryor added. “Hopefully I can get acclimated and I can make him proud for giving me this opportunity. I’m very gracious.”

Pryor had other offers but stuck with the Jaguars because of a chance to work with Coughlin. Pryor has also worked with offensive coordinator John DeFilippo two times before and is happy that he will have some familiarity with the system.

The most important thing for the former Ohio State star is to start producing on the field. Last season he played for the New York Jets and the Buffalo Bills finishing with 16 receptions for 252 yards and two touchdowns.

Maybe Coughlin and the Jaguars are all he needs to turn around his career.
