Tim Tebow is trying to make an NFL comeback with the Jacksonville Jaguars as a tight end, and an offer is out there from another tight end to help his attempt. That would be from Oakland Raiders star Darren Waller, who told TMZ Sports he's willing to be a mentor to Tebow.
Tebow, of course, has never done the tight end thing in the NFL after initially playing as a quarterback. Waller came into the NFL as a wide receiver before switching to tight end and becoming one of the best in the league at the position. Waller thinks he can give the new Jaguars tight end some helpful tips:
“If he thinks he can learn from me,” Waller said of Tebow, “then I'd love to help him and help make his transition smoother.”
“I tried to find any information I could from watching guys play or asking people when I moved,” Waller says. “So, I'd love to continue to pass that on and help him be a better player.”
Tebow certainly isn't going to enjoy the same success with the Jaguars that Waller has had at tight end. The Raiders star caught 107 passes for 1,196 yards and nine touchdowns in 2020, effectively making him the No. 2 tight end in the NFL behind only Kansas City Chiefs stud Travis Kelce.
But Tebow certainly could learn a thing or two from Waller and how he transitioned to a new position. Even if Tebow doesn't reach out, Waller thinks he'll “find a way” with the Jaguars and wishes him all the best.
