Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence is already enamored with new tight end Tim Tebow and feels he is a vital presence in the locker room.

The Jaguars rookie sung Tebow's praises on the AP Pro Football Podcast, who he hadn't met until the start of team minicamp. Lawrence is impressed by what he has seen from the converted tight end thus far:

“[Tebow] looks great,” the Jaguars quarterback said, via ESPN. “He's just a guy that you want to be around. Character is awesome. Had a few conversations with him and I can already tell, and [he's] just a hard worker. No one is going to work harder than him. Those are the kind of guys you want in your locker room and you want to be around every day. And then I'm excited to see what he can do on the field as well. We got in a few days and he looks great. He's in awesome shape.”

The Jaguars signed Tebow after he impressed team personnel during a workout earlier this month. The move has garnered plenty of attention.

Tebow has not played tight end at any point in his football career. However, the former Hesiman-winning quarterback is reuniting with former college head coach Urban Meyer in Jacksonville, and will hope his athleticism and leadership can make an impact on a Jaguars team building for the future.

The leadership element in particular already seems to have struck a cord with Lawrence, the new face of the Jaguars franchise. Whether the two will actually have the chance to connect on some passes this season remains to be seen. For now, though, Lawrence and the Jaguars value the intangibles Tebow brings to the organization.
