Despite an 0-4 start to the season and Urban Meyer making the headlines for a viral bar video, he believes the Jacksonville Jaguars are right in position to claim the AFC South crown.

Per the team's website, Meyer has all the confidence in the world in the Jaguars.

“This team is a much different team than it was Week One,” Meyer said. “In a tough environment [in Cincinnati], to go up and play like our players played … I was very proud of them. The team’s a much better team than it was Week One. We just have to keep improving. The reality is the AFC South is within striking distance.”

It's a savvy move by Meyer and a well played one to try and shift the attention from his scandalous viral video that made waves recently to trying to say anything wild enough that will overtake the video.

Sure, the Jaguars might be getting better but at 0-4, even in a weak division, is anyone buying Jaguars stock?

Meyer is seeing plenty of improvements on film.

“The reality is when you turn on the videotape Week One to Week Four it’s a markedly improved team. If we continue to make strides — which young team, new systems, you would expect that. I see it clear as day.”

The positivity is admirable and given what has transpired with Meyer recently, it's perfectly timed. The reality is that the Jaguars are 0-4 and still seem quite a distance away from being on the same level as the Tennessee Titans, even with them sputtering.
