The Jacksonville Jaguars might be the surprise team in the National Football League. Despite the still iffy play of quarterback Blake Bortles, behind what is arguably the league's best defense, Jacksonville appears destined to make the playoffs.
About that Blake Bortles kid? He's no longer a kid. Also, without showing much improvement, he has somehow managed to break some records. They just so happen to be the sort of records no gunslinger would like to be breaking.
Bortles is the first quarterback — and, by extension, the Jaguars the first team — to throw two interceptions in the final two minutes while trailing but still win. This happened last weekend when the Jaguars managed to defeat the Los Angeles Chargers despite all those turnovers down the stretch.
For some context on the record breaking performance by Blake Bortles: There are only two teams who threw a single interception while trailing in the final two minutes, but won the game.

That remains my favorite meme on all the mean streets of social media. Even better than those “fake banners” people have been making for the New York Knicks.
Anyway, the Jaguars are great at pretty much every position but the most important one. Depth and talent at the running back spot, a good receiving group, and the aforementioned stellar defense, have all kept Jacksonville alive.
It is just going to be so weird to see Bortles fail his way to the Super Bowl off the back of everyone else's competent play.
