Atlanta's Mercedes-Benz Stadium will play host to the exhibition boxing match between YouTuber Jake Paul and former mixed martial arts star Ben Askren.

Triller Fight Club announced Monday the Atlanta venue will play host for the 2021 Kickoff Event on April 17. It will be the first-ever fight event held at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

Triller executive Ryan Kavanaugh said the Triller-iNDemand partnership was excited to provide fans with a large-scale experience:

“Our vision of big fights, big entertainment and world class events can only fit into a world class venue, and Mercedes-Benz Stadium fits that vision,” Kavanaugh in a release, via GlobeNewswire. “April 17th will have an element of surprise and action for everyone, from music fans to the casual and diehard fight fan. The way we will present the night in this state-of-the-art venue will continue to redefine consumer engagement for a global consumer, with world class partners like iNDemand and FITE joining us not just for this event, but for the others we will have in 2021 and beyond.”

Triller and iNDemand previously put on the exhibition between Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr. back in November.

Jake Paul fought on that card, knocking out former NBA star Nate Robinson in viral fashion. He will test his amateur skills against a polished MMA veteran.

Askren dominated the welterweight division in ONE Championship before making his UFC move. He had less success with the new company. Askren earned a controversial win over company man Robbie Fowler before suffering a vicious flying knee knockout against Jorge Masvidal. He decided to retire from MMA after a submission loss to Demian Maia in October 2019.

It remains to be seen what kind of fight fans will be witnessing in this event. But the Jake Paul-Ben Askren card will make history at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in April.
