Utah Jazz big man Rudy Gobert is aiming to win his second straight Defensive Player of the Year award, and as part of his campaign, the Jazz have photoshopped Gobert on to the album cover for John Coltrane's classic Prestige 7105:

This is awesome.

I'm not even sure the Jazz need to do this, however, as Gobert may very well end up winning the award regardless of Utah trying to sway the voters.

The center has anchored what has been the league's second-ranked defense this season and is averaging 12.9 rebounds and 2.3 blocks per game, which is right on part with his averages of 10.7 boards and 2.3 blocks when he took home the honor a year ago.

On the season overall, Gobert is also averaging a career-high 15.7 points over 31.8 minutes per game while shooting a league-best 67 percent from the floor and 63.6 percent from the free-throw line.

The 26-year-old was originally selected by the Denver Nuggets in the first round (27th pick overall) of the 2013 NBA Draft, but was immediately traded to the Jazz.

He had a quiet rookie campaign, averaging just 2.3 points and 3.4 boards a night, but the following year, Gobert broke out, registering 8.4 points, 9.5 rebounds and 2.3 blocks per game.

The Frenchman then averaged his first double-double during his fourth season in the league, posting 14 points and 12.8 boards per game while also pacing the NBA with 2.6 blocks a night.

Gobert owns career averages of 11.1 points, 10.5 rebounds and 2.2 blocks per game.

The Jazz have won six in a row to improve to 48-30 on the season and will take on the Sacramento Kings on Friday night.
