Off and and for what feels like his entire NFL career, Jamal Adams has treated his tenure with the New York Jets like any sane person would a visit to Cleveland. Sure, it might be a nice place to pass by, but no one would purposely go to stay there for an elongated period of time.

Nonetheless, Adams is locked in a contract. One he doesn't like due to the fact the franchise once took a phone call in which trade scenarios were pitched involving the safety. How dare New York do some actual due diligence?!

All Adams can do at the moment is bang objects, make loud noises and be a distraction to the point the Jets want to trade him (again). A good safety, though not close to generational, Adams likely has less leverage than he realizes, as New York's return in a theoretical trade would unlikely justify shipping him off.

Nick Mangold, a former center for the Jets, witnessed the tomfoolery surrounding Jamal Adams long enough. Like anyone with a keyboard and access to the mean streets of Twitter, Mangold has thoughts on this matter. Unlike our friend with hyperactive Twitter fingers, though, Mangold took his takes to the radio.

“I think sometimes that goes to show a little bit of a younger player not realizing the business side,” Mangold said. “People get traded all the time. It’s nothing personal. It’s a business. If you’re going to be upset about a team taking a phone call [about a potential trade], it’s going to be a rough go, I think, through a career as an NFL player.”

It's easy to just make fun of Adams in this situation, and while Mangold's point is a good one from an overall viewpoint, let's consider the situation on a surface level. A member of the human species doesn't love the idea that he has no control over the fact that one day, on the whims of his employer, he might have to up and move to an entirely new place and have brand new employers.

That sounds awful!

Not living in Cleveland awful, though. Go Jets?
