New York Jets wide receiver Robby Anderson is adamant that his off-field troubles are behind him. Now he can focus on taking his game to the next level in the 2018 NFL season.

It appears he has made believers out of his team as well. According to Dillon Coyne of the team's official website, wide receivers coach Karl Dorrell feels Anderson is poised for a big year:

“There are some different roles on our team, doing secondary jobs to help other people out and I think that is something he will learn and grow with,” Dorrell said. “He’ll be better at that now that he knows the scope of it. I think Robby is really going to explode and become a more complete player because of it.”

There is certainly good reason for Dorrell to feel this way. Anderson enjoyed a breakout season last year after finishing the 2017 campaign with 63 receptions for 941 yards and seven touchdowns.

Anderson's prototypical size and speed make him a bonafide No.1 option for the Jets. Most of his production came on big plays downfield. However, it is clear that Dorrell is looking to make Anderson a more complete wideout. This will allow New York to target him on other routes during crucial downs.

The only thing holding Anderson back right now is himself. The Jets have made quite the investment under center this offseason. This could mean that Anderson is poised to become the safety net for whichever quarterback manages to win the starting job in training camp.
