The L.A. Clippers are willing to put their future assets on the line to compete with the Los Angeles Lakers in the Kawhi Leonard sweepstakes. In turn, the San Antonio Spurs will have a big decision to make.

According to Kelly Iko of USA TODAY Sports, team advisor Jerry West will spearhead the charge in hopes to pry the San Antonio Spurs' prized cog out of their possession prior to the start of the draft.

“I’ve been told Jerry West is running point on all attempts to acquire him via trade, and he doesn’t want the Clippers to remain second-fiddle in L.A.,” said Iko. “He will be aggressive during the Draft — Picks 12 and 13 are in play, along with multiple players.”

The Clippers were already likely to make a move with either pick, but now can used these back-to-back picks as a unique opportunity to give the Spurs something in exchange for their Kawhi Leonard.

The Spurs are reportedly not interested in many players that are part of the Lakers, including playmaking dynamo Lonzo Ball, who is the antithesis of what San Antonio has been known to draft over the years.

Ball hasn't proved able to make shots and his commitment to the game has been put in question due to the circus that follows him with his family reality TV show, his homemade brand, and his offseason rap career.

The Clippers have a unique opportunity to bundle some picks and some of their players for a top-five talent, one that could prove hard to obtain in today's NBA, especially for a team that shares the L.A. spotlight with the purple-and-gold.
