Despite being only 28 years old, LA Clippers superstar Kawhi Leonard has accomplished so much in his NBA career. Leonard has ascended himself as one of the best basketball players in the NBA. However, it wasn't for his work ethic; he wouldn't be in the position he is today.

Here are Leonard's greatest moments in his NBA career so far.

Donates backpacks to LAUSD and MVSD

Kawhi Leonard was born and raised in Southern California. However, due to his introverted personality, some kids that live in Southern California may not know who he is.

In hopes of changing that, Kawhi Leonard has done his best to donate to his community, especially to all the youth. At the beginning of the 2019-2020 NBA season, Leonard donated one million new backpacks for every student in the Moreno Valley and Los Angeles school districts.

“I want the kids to know that it’s not a myth that somebody from their city plays and wins in the NBA,” Leonard said. “I just want to influence them to work hard and do whatever they want to do in life, whether it’s to be a basketball player or scientist.”

This act of kindness by Kawhi Leonard will go down as one of the greatest moments in his NBA career.

Wins DPOY in consecutive seasons

Coming into the league, Leonard was known to be a prolific defender, and he still is. The Klaw might even go down as one of the best defenders in NBA history. Nevertheless, in the 2015 season, Leonard won his first Defensive Player of the Year award, joining Michael Jordan and Hakeem Olajuwon as the only players to win the award and the NBA Finals MVP.

However, Leonard didn't stop there, as he won again in the 2016 season. He became the first player to win the DPOY award twice in a row since Dwight Howard in 2010 and 2011. Nevertheless, Leonard's physique, work ethic, and intelligence all contribute to making him one of the best defenders in the league.

Locks down Lebron James in the 2014 NBA Finals

In 2014, nobody really knew who Kawhi Leonard was other than people that lived in San Antonio and Southern California. However, due to his astonishing performance in the 2014 NBA Finals, he made a name for himself all around the country.

Several NBA analysts noted that guarding Lebron James would be a difficult task for Leonard, who was only 22 years old at the time. However, against all the odds, Leonard proved them wrong and accomplished the impossible.

In the 2014 NBA Finals, James shot 57% against the Spurs. However, when defended by Leonard, James shot 34% and only 20% when Leonard actually contested the shot. In reality, James scored a majority of his points in garbage time and against bench players.

Due to his astonishing performance against James, who was arguably the best player at the time, he was named the 2014 Finals MVP. Leonard became the 4th youngest player to be named Finals MVP in NBA history.

Game 7 buzzer-beater against the 76ers

Kawhi Leonard ended the Philadelphia 76ers' season with a buzzer-beater that will always be remembered in NBA history. Leonard's buzzer-beater wasn't an ordinary shot; it bounced off the rim four times before finally falling in. Leonard became the first player in NBA history to win a Game 7 with a buzzer-beater.

Delivers the first championship in Raptors history

Kawhi Leonard's 2019 playoff run was one for the ages. Not only did he lead the Toronto Raptors to their first championship in franchise history, but he broke multiple records while doing so.

Additionally, what makes Leonard's 2019 playoff run so historical, is that he was able to lead them to a title in his first season with the team, one year off of playing in just nine games due to injury.

During the 2019 playoffs, Leonard averaged 30.9 points, 9.2 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 1.7 steals per game. He also had 11 games with at least 30 points. The only players in postseason history with more such games before the Finals are Michael Jordan and Hakeem Olajuwon.
