Golden State Warriors star Kevin Durant recently attended a Nike event at the University of Texas.

During the event Durant was asked about his relationship with Thunder guard Russell Westbrook since his departure from Oklahoma City.

There has been constant speculation about Durant and Westbrook's friendship since the former MVP signed with the Warriors, although both players deny any rift.

Westbrook told reporters that he can't throw away an eight-year relationship because they are no longer on the same team.

That didn't stop another curious onlooker from asking Durant about the two at the Nike event as the crowd buzzed.

Durant taking no offense answered in a calm tone:

We’re still cool. We’re going to compete against each other at the highest level. We’re gonna have fun against each other. We’re still cool.

There is no information on whether the two have talked yet, but they will be seeing each other soon.

The Warriors square off against the Thunder for the first time on November 5th at Oracle arena.
