Khamzat Chimaev is a very confident UFC fighter and has no limits on his self-belief. He recently spoke out on fighting Israel Adesanya and Kamaru Usman as he expects to become a champion in multiple divisions.

The championship fights are coming soon for Khamzat Chimaev if he can get past Gilbert Burns at UFC 273. The Swedish fighter believes no one can doubt him if he scores a big win over the Brazilian.

“I think I have to fight for the title,” Chimaev said on The MMA Hour. “Who is the next guy out there? Ten fights, 10 finishes. After [the Burns fight], 11 fights, 11 finishes. And what are they going to say? The guy is No. 2 in the rankings. Now they talk about, ‘Oh, you didn’t fight somebody in the rankings.’ Now, if I beat this guy — No. 2 — what are you going to say?”

Wrestling is a huge factor for Khamzat Chimaev and he spoke about it as he discussed potential fights with Israel Adesanya and Kamaru Usman. The UFC welterweight dropped quite the truth bomb on the middleweight champion.

“Izzy, I think it will be more easy for me to smash that guy [than Kamaru Usman],” Chimaev said. “He has zero wrestling. The guy he fought last time, he’s not a wrestler — he took his back.

“If I take his back, brother, I’ll squeeze his head off. I’ll take his head off. Easy money for me.”

It will have to be seen if Khamzat Chimaev can get past Gilbert Burns and book big fights against Kamaru Usman and Israel Adesanya. Many are hoping he gets tested against the best in order to see how good he truly is.
