The Chicago Bulls entered Monday night's contest against the Sacramento Kings with three straight losses. The Kings, on the other hand, were fresh off a big come-from-behind victory over the Denver Nuggets on Saturday.

With Sacramento playing in front of its home crowd and Chicago on the tail end of a three game West Coast road trip, you would have to imagine the Kings would take advantage and hand it to the reeling Bulls. However, the Bulls ended up stealing the game on the road, 113-106.

Kings guard Buddy Hield admitted that they did not take Chicago seriously, and that cost them a chance to get their 9th win of the season:

Chicago led by as much as 16 points in the second quarter and finished the first half with an 11-point cushion. The Bulls continued to pour it on in the second half and mounted a 19-point lead after a couple of free throws from Tomas Satoransky.

Sacramento clawed its way back and eventually cut the lead down to two with 2:18 remaining. But the Bulls held on down the stretch, with Zach LaVine putting the game to bed with a 3-point basket with 1:15 remaining to extend their lead to seven.

This is definitely a disappointing performance for Sacramento. These kinds of days are understandable for established teams that have been successful over the past years. But for a young team that still has a lot to prove and that is looking to take the next step this season, they can't afford to have slacking days like they did on Monday.

A win could have inched the Kings closer to .500 and tied them with the eighth-seeded Phoenix Suns in the Western Conference standings.
