Look away, Sacramento Kings fans.

The much-maligned franchise has been the butt of many NBA jokesters for a long time now. Somehow, someway, the Kings have always been, well… bad. Even when they had studs like DeMarcus Cousins, Tyreek Hill, and currently De'Aaron Fox, they have failed to be successful.

This season is shaping up to be another one of those failures. However, this one stings a little bit more for the Kings. With their 42nd loss of the season (to the Dallas Mavericks), Sacramento has clinched another losing season. This is now the 16th year that they have failed to finish over .500, an NBA record. So, what's wrong with the Kings? It's certainly not a lack of talent. Even during some of their other losing seasons, they've always had some good players on their roster. However, whether due to poor coaching or mismanagement from above, the team always, ALWAYS ends up losing most of their games.

This 2021 – 22 season, the culprit for the Kings' struggles is once again due to management. Instead of fully committing to a rebuild, Vlade Divac once again tried to toe the line between contending for the playoffs and grabbing young talent. They traded away Tyrese Haliburton, their breakout star last year, for Domatas Sabonis.

It's safe to say that these moves have not worked out well for Sac-Town. Unless something drastic changes happen to the organization or they hit upon a lucky star, the Kings' losing streak will continue for longer. Hang in there, fans. You're going to need to.
