Sacramento Kings big man Harry Giles logged just eight minutes before departing from Thursday's win over the Dallas Mavericks due to an injury. After the game, head coach Dave Joerger confirmed that Giles, in fact, had a thigh bruise and that it stiffened up on him during halftime, with the Kings opting to keep him on the bench for the remainder of the evening due to safety precautions, with no pressing need to run him back onto the floor.

Giles did not attempt a shot during the victory, although he did snatch two rebounds in his time on the floor.

Since the start of the new year, Giles has found himself as a consistent bench weapon for Joerger and the Kings. Currently in his rookie season after missing his first year due to a torn ACL, he has found a niche as a reserve for Sacramento, averaging 7.0 points and 3.8 rebounds per contest across 14.1 minutes on a nightly basis.

Sacramento added him to the fold with the 20th overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft out of Duke, where he spent just one year. Giles has now found himself teamed up on the second unit with another former Blue Devil in Marvin Bagley III, who has emerged as the 2018-19 season has gone on.

By all accounts, the Kings were just being cautious with Giles on Thursday, although that does still leave his status up in the air for Saturday's matchup with the Phoenix Suns. He has appeared in every game for Sacramento since Dec. 30,
