Sacramento Kings head coach Luke Walton isn't all that concerned about the way he'll be received when he faces the Lakers on Friday night.

Walton was once the coach of the Lakers, serving from 2016 to 2019. However, the two sides parted ways this summer, and he was later hired by the Kings — three days later, to be precise. Friday night marks his first matchup against the Lakers, but he hasn't given his reception much thought. Instead, he's remaining focused on his current role with the Kings.

“I don’t expect anything,” Walton said, via The Athletic. “I haven’t thought about that one bit. I love L.A. and had great times down there, but my thoughts are with where this team is at, where we’re trying to get to and what we can do to try to give ourselves the best chance to win.”

The Kings (4-6) struggled through the early stages of this season, dropping five straight games. However, they've since recovered, and they're riding a two-game winning streak.

The Lakers, on the other hand, have looked impressive. LeBron James and Anthony Davis have led their team to an early 9-2 record, and they too are riding a two-game winning streak.

Friday night's Kings-Lakers matchup is set to tip inside the Staples Center at 10:30 p.m. ET.

Let's see how Walton fares against his former team.
