Sacramento Kings head coach Luke Walton told reporters that he would have no further comment after news broke that a lawsuit against accusing him of sexual assault was dropped on Thursday:
Kelli Tennant, a former host for Spectrum SportsNet, had accused Walton of sexually assaulting her in a Santa Monica, CA hotel room in 2014, but she has reportedly filed documents to remove the lawsuit, according to TMZ:
Now, Tennant has filed new court docs calling off the suit — asking a judge to dismiss with prejudice, which means she can't refile it.
Tennant filed the initial suit in April, which subsequently led to an official investigation led by the NBA and the Kings. The probe, which ended in August, concluded that “there was not sufficient basis to support the allegations,” and Tennant never participated in the investigation. There is no knowledge yet as to whether or not the two sides reached a settlement or if Tennant dropped the charges outright.Walton has refrained from speaking about the situation since the Kings hired him in April. Tennant had filed the lawsuit just nine days after he was hired by Sacramento, which came days after he parted ways with the Los Angeles Lakers following the end of the 2018-19 season.
