Boston Celtics TV analyst Brian Scalabrine started a rumor earlier this season that has Klay Thompson looking for him.

He claimed the Golden State Warriors were looking to trade Thompson but never revealed where he got his information.

There were players names and a team involved in a deal he said was expected to take place.

The Warriors had to shoot down the rumor to quell any misunderstandings which may have occurred as a result.

It was never going to happen in a million years and was no different than many other trade rumors creates to stir up talk.

Thompson spoke with management and told ESPN's Marc Stein that he put it behind him after finding out it wasn't true.

Steve [Kerr] and Bob [Myers] came up to me and told me it was nonsense. It don't really try and pay to much mind to it, because I know how the media circus works these days. It's a 24-hour news cycle and you have to pump out some stories. It just didn't bother me too much. When you're not playing as well as you should, there's always speculation. So I let people speculate, the media speculate.

Mid-November, the Warriors visited the Celtics, and Thompson scurried through Beantown looking for Scalabrine to have a chat with him.

He was nowhere to be found but Thompson vowed to pay him a visit when the Celtics visit Oracle Arena later this season.

I tried to find him in Boston, but I couldn't find him. Scal was ducking me. It's all right. I'll see him at Oracle.

They don't play each other again until March when Scalabrine will have to answer for himself.
