The New York Knicks are still looking for a veteran point guard, who has the ability to run their offense, and also serve as a mentor to their rookie, Frank Ntilikina. That said, it has been reported that the team has two players in mind, and may choose to add one of them soon.

Even with the signing of Ramon Sessions earlier this summer, the Knicks are still looking into adding Jarrett Jack or Archie Goodwin to their fold, according to Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN.

“Hearing that some in the Knicks front office see Jarrett Jack and Archie Goodwin as potential free agent additions at point guard. Jack would provide the Knicks with a veteran presence in the locker room and on the floor. Goodwin fits the mold of the direction the Knicks are heading toward — a young player who may still develop with opportunity. Jeff Hornacek is also familiar with Goodwin from their Phoenix days.”

Jarrett Jack is coming off two major injuries in the last couple of seasons, but has now fully recovered. Should he be signed, it will be his chance to resurrect his career and prove that he can still play at the highest level. Archie Goodwin on the other hand, played briefly with the New Orleans Pelicans and Brooklyn Nets last year, and spent most of the season in the D-League. He played under coach Jeff Hornacek in his first three years in the NBA with the Phoenix Suns, and is familiar with the system that he runs.

The addition of either one of them would add another veteran presence to the team, and would push their roster to 20 players heading to training camp.
